How long does a filter cartridge last?
About 12 months for most homes — or until the litre capacity is reached, whichever comes first. We'll remind you when it's time to change.
How much does a replacement cartridge cost?
Replacement cartridge prices depend on your system. Contact us for current pricing — we'll also remind you when yours is due for a change.
What are cysts in water?
Cysts are the dormant form of microscopic waterborne parasites, most commonly Cryptosporidium and Giardia. They are resistant to chlorine, so they need to be filtered out. Skoon filters are certified to reduce them.
Do I need a separate tap?
For the Skoon Drinking Water Kit, yes — a slim chrome drinking-water tap is installed next to your main tap. For the Whole-Kitchen System, no extra tap is needed.
Where do you install?
Professional supply and installation is available in the Western Cape, Cape Winelands and KwaZulu-Natal. Installation availability is confirmed by location.
Do you deliver outside your installation regions?
Yes — we supply nationwide by courier. A flat courier fee of R 690.00 incl. VAT applies per order, anywhere in South Africa. Installed bundled solutions (where we deliver and install the kit) carry no delivery or courier fee. Installation is not included on out-of-region orders.
Is installation included in the price?
Listed prices are for supply. Installation is quoted separately based on your layout and is only offered within our install regions (Western Cape, Cape Winelands and KZN).
What does the filter remove?
Depending on the system, filters are designed to reduce chlorine taste and odour, lead, cysts, sediment and fine particles. Healthy minerals naturally found in your water are retained.
